Adult Education Classes – 2009/10
The classes starting in September for the Autumn term are:
Scottish Country Dancing in the Coupar Angus Primary School Hall 7-9pm for 10 weeks, starting on Thursday 14 January 2010. Fee - £28 for 10 classes
Afternoon Art Class in the Guide Hut, School Rd, C/Angus, 1.30-3.30pm for 10 weeks starting on Thursday 21 January,. Fee - £28 for 10 classes
Tai Chi - in the school hall, Coupar Angus Primary School, 7-8.30 for 10 weeks, starting on Monday 18 January. Fee - £28 for 10 classes
Yoga - Upstairs in Coupar Angus Town Hall, 7-8.30pm for 10 weeks, starting on Tuesday 19 January. Fee - £28 for 10 classes
All the classes are suitable for every ability, beginners are more than welcome to join any of the activities.

The Coupar Angus Beavers meet in the Scout Hut on Bogside Road in Coupar Angus on Thursday evenings from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. This is an activity for boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years. The cost is £1.00 per week. We follow the Beaver Scout programme with the motto being 'Fun and Friends'. We do badge work, games and crafts etc. The contacts for this group are as below:-

The Coupar Angus Country and Western Music Club
The club holds a dance on the 2nd Friday of each month, except December when it is the 1st Friday, from 8.15pm to midnight in the Red House Hotel, Coupar Angus.
We have lots of line dancing but you can do social dancing or just sit back and relax enjoying some good old country music played by some great bands. We have a different band every month.

All of these groups are run by volunteers who wish to promote Christ's Kingdom in a fun and welcoming way. Members can be from any denomination or none at all and need not live in Coupar Angus. Apart from our weekly meetings which cost £1, we organise hillwalking, skiing, canoeing, day trips, weekend activity breaks and much more. Coupar Angus Gala Day is held every year on the last Sunday in June, on the Common, Forfar Rd, Coupar Angus from 1-4pm. The afternoon events include: Coupar Angus Burgh Pipe Band, Fly Dog Display Team, Scottish Country Dancers, Rattray School Marching Band, Children's Races, Fancy Dress and Face Painting, Fire Engine,Vintage Cars, Stilt Walker, Car Boot Sale, Beer Tent, BBQ, Side Shows, Stalls, Cake'n'Candy, Tombola, Raffles etc. Money raised is donated to local organisations and charities. Fund raising takes place throughout the year with a Christmas raffle in the Co-op and a Duck Race on the burn in April.

We are a small committee on the Illuminators and as you are probably aware our purpose is to provide Christmas Lighting to the town of Coupar Angus.
Thank you to the townsfolk who give their donations generously to keep our organisation going as all the Christmas Lighting has to be self funded.
The lights are to be erected on the 23rd. November and removed on the 11th. January 2009, and more volunteers would be welcome on these Sunday mornings.

Outings for Senior Citizens
The Community Council organises outings for senior citizens from Coupar Angus, Ardler and Bendochy once a month, setting off from the Town Hall in Union Street at 1pm. Priority will be given to people who don’t have their own transport, and perhaps have mobility problems. We can also take up to two people with wheelchairs. People will be chosen in rotation from a list. To add your name to the list, please phone Tom Callan on 628342.
