Background Perth & Kinross Council has published the draft version of its new Local Development Plan. The Plan suggests suitable locations for the development of housing, commercial premises, roads etc. across the whole of Perth and Kinross. Included in the plan are three pages dedicated to Coupar Angus (click here to download them), including the map shown opposite. This allocates a large site on Forfar Road (H65, shown in pink) for up to 120 new houses. The plan, known as the 'Proposed Local Development Plan', differs considerably from earlier local plans. For example the current Eastern Local Plan from 1998, and its unfinished replacement from 2005, include a new road connecting the Dundee Road with the Nortel Corner. You can download the current Eastern Local plan and the unfinished plan from 2005 at this page on the website of Perth & Kinross Council. Alternatively you can download just the Coupar Angus pages from each, here: |
