Alyth Community Council invite SSE to present its River Isla hydro proposal on 25 January 2012Alyth Community Council have invited SSE to present their River Isla hydro proposals at a normal, public, meeting of the Community Council on 25th January at 7pm in the Lesser Town Hall in Alyth.
Earlier on the same day, from 3pm to 6pm in the Ogilvie Rooms, Alyth, SSE is holding a drop in session to enable local people to learn more about the project and ask any questions. Click here to see more information on SSE website Background Since January 2011 Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) has been looking into the feasibility of building a hydro electric scheme at Reekie Linn on the River Isla. SSE states: "The infrastructure required for the proposed scheme is a small intake structure located on the River Isla upstream of Bridge of Craigisla and a generating station located in a relatively secluded area of agricultural land 10km downstream of the intake." |
